North Texas Chapter

The North Texas Chapter has three dedicated volunteers assisting with chapter operations under the oversight of the board.


Priscilla Evans, M.Ed., LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 20 years of experience in education, school counseling, and mental health. She provides therapy for children, adolescents, and adults using evidence-based approaches, with specialized training in Child-Centered Play Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT). Priscilla is passionate about supporting emotional wellness, strengthening families, and equipping professionals through education and collaboration. As Chair of the North Texas Chapter of the Association for Play Therapy, she is committed to fostering professional growth, meaningful connections, and high-quality learning opportunities for play therapists across North Texas.

Maddison Stahler, M.S., LPC

Maddison Stahler, M.S., LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in providing child-centered play therapy for young children and preadolescents.  Maddison has just submitted her Registered Play Therapy application and will be a Registered Play Therapist in the near future.  She also sees adolescents, young adults, and adults who are struggling with life transitions, grief, or trauma; she is trained in EMDR and provides this modality for adolescents, teens, and adults.   Maddison is very passionate about child development, neuroscience, family systems in terms of how they impact a child’s development, and parent education training to support the play therapy process.  As Finance Chair of the North Texas Chapter of the Association for Play Therapy, Maddison is committed to providing high quality learning opportunities for play therapists of all ages through networking events, continued education opportunities, and social gatherings.

Sonja Mugnier, M.S., NCC, LPC-Associate, Supervised by Ardis Lo, MS, LPC-S, RPT-S

Sonja Mugnier, M.S., NCC, LPC-Associate, supervised by Ardis Lo, M.S., LPC-S, RPT-S, specializes in play therapy for children and adolescents. Sonja has training in Child-Centered Play Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT). Sonja has experience working in community clinics, non-profit agencies, and private practice. She sees children and adolescents with presenting concerns including anxiety, depression, grief, history of trauma, and emotional dysregulation. Sonja is passionate about child development, parent support, and practicing from a humanistic lens. As social media representative, Sonja is committed to sharing resources, promoting learning opportunities, and creating meaningful connections that encourage both new and experienced play therapists.
