Play therapy is an age-appropriate therapeutic approach for children that utilizes the natural medium of play to address behavioral, emotional, and cognitive concerns. By engaging with carefully selected toys within a therapeutic environment, children are able to express and explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a supportive setting.
What is a Play Therapist™?
A Registered Play Therapist™ is a licensed mental health professional who has earned certification from the Association for Play Therapy. To qualify as a Play Therapist™, a mental health professional must complete 150 hours of specialized training in play therapy and accrue a minimum of 350 hours of supervised play therapy experience under the guidance of a Registered Play Therapist™-Supervisor.
